Sara and Joe are both one of the most caring, compassionate and easy going couples who met at medical school in California. Their wedding was filled with immense love, joy, and relief. Sara and Joe’s wedding was postponed several times due to COVID. ]

I met Sara and Joe in person after eight months of planning their wedding at their tasting! CRAZY, right?! But actually it’s very common in the wedding industry-sometimes we do not meet our couples (in-person) until the week of the wedding! Even though it was months before we finally met each other, it felt like we were friends catch up. I absolutely love how technology allows us to intentionally connect with our couples across the country.

Sara is Ethiopian and Joe is Venezuelan, one of their wishes for their wedding was to be able to fuse both cultural traditions into one special day.

So how did we do that? With full bellies-FOOD!

We created a mash-up of a multicultural palette of their favorite foods from both cultures.

We also incorporated an Ethiopian coffee ceremony which signifies a sign of respect and friendship.

Sara and Joe expressed deeply how they wanted to mesh both cultures together throughout their wedding. One of their top priorities in booking a wedding pro was having the capacity to accommodate the blending of both musical backgrounds-Venezuelan and Ethiopian. DJ Chizzau was able to create a customized playlist for Sara and Joe and their guests to enjoy!
